Review of the Yamaha B1 upright Piano Yamaha’s most affordable piano ever. No corners have been cut. No compromises made in materials or workmanship. The b Series, like all Yamaha pianos, are instruments of extraordinary natural beauty, combining art, craftsmanship and technology; a pleasure to play and to own.

The Yamaha B1 has a pleasing tone that is clear and melodic, the action is responsive and the cabinet discrete and compact. For tight turns, restricted access, the minimal dimensions of the Yamaha B1 are a key benefit. However, the saving in standing floor space required by short uprights is very slight (usually just a few centimeters) at the cost of a greater compromise on tone and feel.

The laminated soundboard is made of 3 plies of soundboard-grade spruce producing a stable and resonant tone whilst maintaining a low price. The B1 is available to order in a choice of finishes to suit your decor.
